The effect of temperature on the width of proton and sodium resonances have been studied in borax, tincalconite, kernite and the trihydrate. Na2B4O7·3H2O. Excluding the trihydrate, proton resonance line in all the samples broaden at 110°K. The transition temperatures are 210°K, 150°K and 235°K respectively for borax, tincalconite and kernite. Saturation narrowing has been observed in borax at low temperatures. The change in lineshapes have been explained with reference to their structure.
