Solitons on a Background and a Shock Wave

The modified Korteweg-de Vries equation:
u_t+6u²u_x−u_xxx=0,
is solved exactly by means of the ‘inverse scattering method.’
On the basis of this method, an infinite sequence of conserved quantities is obtained.
