The absorption spectra of AgHf, AgTa and AgPt have been measured for the photon energies between 0.55 eV to 5.75 eV using thin films prepared by the simultaneous evaporation method. Absorption bands due to the presence of the virtual bound states are observed. The data for AgHf and AgTa are examined in terms of the Friedel-Anderson model. The experimental results are not consistent with the model.
