Near-noraml reflectance spectra of CeO₂ and Ce_xLa_1−xAl₂ alloy system were measured at photon energies from 90 to 140 eV. The results were compared with the photoyield data on Ce_xLa_1−xCu₆ alloy system paying attention to the chemical shifts of the 4d-4f multiplet components. It was found that the rigid wavefunction model is not consistent with the concentration dependence of the chemical shifts.
