We continue our investigation of nonequilibrium statistical mechanics in which irreversibility comes out from contractions of microscopic informations about a macroscopic system. The hypothesis advanced by Machlup and Onsager that an extended entropy depends upon the fluxes is examined by applying the time-smoothing procedure proposed by the present author. Starting from this hypothesis and by using the previous method, the expressions for these fluxes are given. It is necessary to assume that an initially time-smoothed density matrix depends upon a particular set of dynamical operators Aj and \dotAj=[iH, Aj]. The fluctuation-dissipation theorem is also discussed.
