The limiting irreducible cluster sums for infinite volume, and hence the virial coefficients, are investigated for the one-dimensional, the two-dimensional square, the three-dimensional simple cubic and the two-dimensional triangular lattice gas with nearest-neighbour (attractive) interactions. It is concluded that all the virial coefficients for the two-dimensional triangular lattice gas are negative for sufficiently low temperatures, while this does not hold for the other lattice gases dealt with in this paper.
