Pharmacology is a core field of drug information not only for pharmacists but also for other medical professionals in pharmacotherapy. Needless to say, for pharmacy students, pharmacology education is also a key pharmaceutical curriculum. In the revised model core curriculum for pharmacy education, pharmacology is categorized into the same section as pathophysiology and pharmacotherapeutics, and was constructed with common concepts in the recent revised model core curriculum for school of medicine and dentistry. In this symposium, to guide pharmacy students to pharmacy practical training beyond the pharmacology education, I am going to provide topics on the importance of pharmacology and relationship with other subjects, based on "the revised model core curriculum for pharmacy education", through the pharmacy education from basic biomedical sciences (biochemistry､physiology, anatomy and so on) to clinical pharmacy (pharmacology, pathophysiology and pharmacotherapeutics).
