抄録

  Agricultural land consolidation projects and water management for paddy rice cultivation had a negative impact on freshwater fish habitat by dividing water area networks. This study compared the conservation benefits of breeding fish in paddy fields with paddy fields fishways and paddy fields fishways with the addition of swale. The following facts were revealed. 1) The opportunities for Carassius spp. and Silurus asotus to migrate upstream into the paddy fields increased. 2) The reproductive hindrance for Carassius spp. caused by shallow water management was avoided. 3) Interruptions in the transition of growth stages (Oryzias latipes and Carassius spp.) and reproduction (Oryzias latipes) due to midsummer drainage were avoided. 4) Flooding the swale all year round can maximises the reproductive period of the Oryzias latipes.
