Abstract

This study conducts questionnaire surveys on Tokushima whitebait fishermen and analyzes their opinions on the fishery collaboration and incorporation.

The survey shows the young generation tends to disagree to collaboration and incorporation widely. Especially, they strongly oppose to sharing the vessels for fish finding and transport. Compared with men, women tend to accept processing whitebait together and sharing vessels. In the choice experiment, women’s MWTP towards shortening working hours is higher than that of men. The result is reasonable, considering that women play a main role in the whitebait processing.
