Abstract

This study evaluated the effects of the blending ratio of high-purity BDF(ReESEL)on the combustion and NOx emission characteristics of a diesel engine through fundamental experiments and engine tests. Although fuel consumption and NOx emissions increased as the blending ratio increased, the engine satisfied emission regulations under medium- and high-load conditions, indicating that ReESEL is a promising low-carbon alternative fuel for practical applications.
