Abstract
The behaviors of NO under the UV irradiations with high and low pressure mercury lamps were studied in air at room temperature. The change between NO and NO2 was in equilibrium in the mixture of NO-O2-N2 under a high pressure mercury lamp irradation because of the reductive decomposition of NO2 formed by the oxidation and the equilibrium concentration of NO2 increased with the initial concentration of O2. NO was oxidized to NO2 and higher oxids with the formation of N2O under a low pressure lamp irradiation.
