The behaviors of NO under the UV irradiations with high and low pressure mercury lamps were studied in air at room temperature. The change between NO and NO
2 was in equilibrium in the mixture of NO-O
2-N
2 under a high pressure mercury lamp irradation because of the reductive decomposition of NO
2 formed by the oxidation and the equilibrium concentration of NO
2 increased with the initial concentration of O
2. NO was oxidized to NO
2 and higher oxids with the formation of N
2O under a low pressure lamp irradiation.
