Abstract

This paper describes a method to analyze a DC electric field generated by an electric railway considering an influence of constructions. The finite element method is effective to solve a problem including the constructions of an arbitrary shape, however the analysis becomes time-consuming if the problem includes the steel material having fine structure such as reinforced concrete. The authors introduced effective modeling methods of the concrete structures such as a concrete pole and a lining concrete installed in a tunnel, and the effectiveness of these methods is confirmed by numerical experiments. The electric field along the electric railway is effectively analyzed by using these methods, and suitable positions to confirm a live voltage line without contact by detecting the electric field are discussed.
