Abstract

Recently, a new treatment method using atmospheric pressure low-temperature plasma (ALTP) has been attracting attention. We focused on lung adenocarcinoma, which has been the most common site-specific cancer patient in Japan since 1998. All the current treatment methods are highly invasive and their side effects on the body are a challenge. Therefore, I propose a novel method of applying ALTP as one of the less invasive treatment methods. However, the detailed mechanism of action remains unclear, with the difference in effects depending on the cancer type. In this paper, we describe the effect of culture medium after ALTP irradiation on human lung adenocarcinoma cells after irradiation. The evaluation methods include the effect on the number of viable cells, gene expression analysis of apoptosis-related genes, and the effect on cell migration ability to elucidate the mechanism of action.
