Abstract

 In this research, we investigated the characteristic change of the magnetic flux pinning stopping phenomenon due to making the gap between two high-temperature superconductors. In order to investigate the characteristics, we created a superconducting magnetic bearing with a structure that uses the side and top surfaces of the HTS for pinning to use a magnetic flux concentration method. By analyzing the restoring force characteristics of the created bearing in each direction, we verified whether the pinning characteristics would change. As a result of the experiment, by creating a gap between the two superconductors, the pinning property was improved in a specific gap, and the restoring force was increased by the gap. Experiments have shown the usefulness of creating gaps between superconductors.
