Abstract
Technical possibility ty of an engine system (combustion, exhaust aftertreatment) which made good use of a characteristic (zero sulfur, zero aroma and high cetane number) of FTD fuel was examined. The clean diesel which was much less than a current exhaust emission level by a small change of combustion / aftertreatment system could be realized in a base of a commercial 2L class small diesel engine, and this mechanism was described in detail experimentally.
