Abstract

The azimuth angle feedback steering system shows enhanced performance in the situation where quick steering action is necessary but it reauires continuous steering angle increments during turning, which results in some additional workload on drivers. Introducing yaw velocity feedback into the system enables the system to redeuce the steering wheel angle increments and the yaw velocity demping. As a result the system can reduce drevers' workload and improve course following performance. The performances of the generalized azimuth angle feedback steering system incorporated into a vehicle with actual response delay are evaluated multilaterally in this second report.
