Abstract
The premixed charge compression ignition combustion combined with EGR and high pressure fuel injection at the early stage of the compression process favorably reduce the emissions from direct-injection diesel engines. In this study, numerical analysis was conducted to investigate the above-mentioned combustion regime by using the fuel spray model that considers the collapse energy of cavitation bubbles formed in the fuel nozzle based on the computational fluid dynamics code, KIVA-3V.
