Abstract
Lock-up clutch (LC) control reported in this paper finely controls the degree of slip in the LC in response to operationg conditions including vehicle speed, engine speed, and degree of throttle opening, in order to expand the range of operation of LC control by increasing the accuracy of torque transmission control using torque converter (TC).To realize this, a multi-plate LC TC and a newly developed LC direct hydraulic control circuit have been employed, aiming at expanding the range of LC control by finely controlling the target slip ratio for actual vehicles.
