Evaluation of Thin-walled Structure by U*

Abstract

It is important to analyze whether thin-walled structure has enough capability of load transfer. Therefore, load paths of joint part are analyzed using U* which can evaluate sheared surface of a structure and connection state between structural members. It is shown as a result that the load paths and connection state of thin plate structure can be visually evaluated using U*, and easily understood compared with the stress.
