Abstract
The authors' group has been developed an LDA flow rate meter for a fuel injection rate measurement. The LDA flow rate meter can realize simultaneous measurements of the fuel injection rate and of the spray characteristics. The various diameters of pipe that is the measuring section of LDA flow meter are tested for improving the measurement accuracy of the high-pressure fuel injection rate. In addition, the oscillation in the flow rate is separated, and the injection rates are re-calculated. It is pointed out that the oscillation is caused by shocks when the injector valve is opening and closing.
