Abstract
The Flexible Pedestrian Legform Impactor (FlexPLI) significantly differs from the conventional EEVC legform in terms of bone stiffness and leg fracture measures. This study first clarified the correlation of peak injury measures between a human model and legform models representing both legform impactors. Since the most significant difference was seen with the leg fracture measures, the mechanism behind the difference was further investigated by using an isolated leg model. The results showed that both the bone stiffness and the use of different injury measures affect the correlation with the human response.
