Abstract
The engine load of a commercial hybrid truck is reduced by using assist of a hybrid electric motor. Fuel economy of this hybrid truck is improved with the assist. On the other hand, exhaust-gas temperature is decreased, and it has a negative effect on the purification performance of aftertreatment system. In this report, firstly, fuel economy and exhaust -gas emission of an actual commercial hybrid truck were measured by chassis dynamometer. Secondly, control methods to improve fuel economy and exhaust-gas temperature of the hybrid truck were investigated by using "Hybrid power -train test bed system". The results show that the engine of the hybrid truck was operated in the range of high efficiency, fuel economy and exhaust-gas temperature of the hybrid truck were improved, compared to a diesel truck.
