Abstract

The Extended-HILS was constructed using the original HILS which was extended and combined with the engine bench system. This system is capable of communicating in real time using the electrical signals between the vehicle model and the actual engine. And also the virtual heavy -duty hybrid vehicle in the model is controlled by the engine speed signal from the actual engine controlled by the driver model on the HILS. The Extended-HILS was evaluated with JE05 driving mode. The result showed the engine behavior was almost the same as the actual vehicle system.
