Abstract
Measurement accuracy for oil film thickness were improved to analyze lubrication conditions on the piston skirt. Clear oil film pictures which were able to distinguish between hydrodynamic area and boundary area were obtained. The influence of skirt surface roughness for oil film thickness, and influence of direction of roughness on adhered oil volume at skirt were clarified by analyzing these oil film pictures and improved captured pictures.
