Abstract
Thermal management: engine cooling and heat protection, by CFD is an important part of vehicle development process. However, as the heat transfer phenomena in the underfloor and engine room of a vehicle are very complex, it is difficult to predict accurately the temperature variations of vehicle parts under an unsteady driving mode. To improve the prediction accuracy, we optimized the cooling fan model and the radiative emissivity of parts. As a result, the peak temperature error between prediction and testing is less than 15 K in the key off stage.
