Abstract
A pinion gear using an involute tooth profile can be characterized as having high transmission efficiency. However, if the number of teeth is reduced to one for high speed reduction, the operating pressure angle becomes large and the transmission efficiency becomes very low, so it is said that practical use is difficult. In this paper as the number of teeth is reduced to one, the transmission efficiency is successfully maintained by making the tooth profile circular and optimizing the operating pressure angle.
