Abstract
The Cooling loss characteristics of FC (fuel cell) system are: (1) Thermal energy produced by FC stack is mainly dissipated to the coolant. (2) The energy efficiency variation with respect to the power variation is large at high load or high temperature compared to the ordinary use range. (3) The allowable temperature of FC stack is low compared to ICE (internal combustion engine). The radiator tends to be large to keep FC stack temperature moderate from these characteristics. The purpose of this study is to redress the balance between the cooling capacity and cooling loss, by implementing the control of the FC power output focused on the characteristic of (2).
