Abstract
To correspond with CO2 reduction from the automobile, in conjunction with electrification, improving the thermal efficiency of ICE are crucial and lean boosted SI engine is being studied. However, the combustion limitation is one of the issues for this technology, therefore it is important to clarify the spark ignition mechanism. In this study the discharge path length history is analyzed to reveal the influence on ignition duration.
