Abstract
Reducing soot emissions at cold start and warming up phase is a major issue for exhaust gas regulations in gasoline port injection engines. The purpose of this study is to clarify the soot reduction mechanism by heating the parts around the intake port and to reduce soot emission. By constructing and evaluating the heating method with a high soot reduction effect, the prospect of about 40% soot reduction effect was obtained.
