Abstract
HC-SCR system by diesel reformed gas was developed to improve a NOx reduction performance. A low temperature oxidation of diesel fuel was adopted to generate a diesel reformed gas such as oxygenated hydrocarbon, which is high NOx reduction agent. Various experiments for evaluating NOx reduction performance were conducted using n-hexadecane and diesel fuel by changing a reforming temperature, reforming equivalence ratio and NOx: HC mole ratios in the selective catalytic reaction. It was found that the NOx reduction efficiency by reformed gas was achieved up to about 90%.
