Creating a character-like dialogue system is one of the effective methods to attract users to entertainment content (e.g., game, manga) over a longer time. To realize such a dialogue system, many researches in recent years have focused on enabling language models to generate character-like utterances. Although understanding the elements of characteristics is important for effectively developing language-model-based character-like dialogue system, these elements are not well listed. In this study, we identified elements of characteristics from candidates through user-experiment. In the experiment, users evaluated character-likeness of the utterances from a smartphone game IDOLY PRIDE with 7-point likert-scale and explained the reasons for their evaluations in free-form comments. Through the analysis of user annotations, we identified essential elements for creating a character-like dialogue system.
