Abstract

1) Water has been emulsified in Diesel fuel (gas oil) up to 46.2 weight % of total mixture, and the authors could operate four-stroke-cycle, single cylinder diesel engine employing a precombustion type by using emulsified fuels.
2) In general, the reduction in the oxides of nitrogen (NOx) is difficult to be compatible with the black smoke, but water emulsified in Diesel fuel could reduce considerably the amount of smoke and oxides of nitrogen in the exhaust of this engine, as shown in Fig. 5, 8 and 9. Therefore, the authors think that the emulsified fuel is one means to reduce some damage to the human body and a plant by work using farm engine in the indoor, the greenhouse and in the garden of a farmhouse in Japan where the wind blows slightly.
