Screw Type Threshing Mechanism and Determinations of its Specification

Abstract

With the progress of the new governmental program named Reorganization of Paddy Field Utilization initated in 1978, area cropped to soybeans has increased year by year. As a part of the study program to establish the mechanical harvesting system for soybean, the study to develop a new thresher with the screw type threshing and separating mechanism, which are completely different from the conventional type was constructed from 1978 to 1982. The whole process of these studies will be mentioned by the series of 4 reports.
In this report, the structure and function of screw type threshing mechanism developed by authors were discussed, and the proper specification of main structure on this mechanism, such as pitch of screw type tooth, number and shape of peg tooth, length of threshing cylinder, concave clearance and meshes of concave were clarified by basic experiments.
