Abstract

As the simple mechanism for separating the mixture of grains, stalks and emptied pods which pass through the concave of the screw type threshing mechanism, the screw type separating mechanism composed of a screw auger with agitators and a concave was developed. In this separating mechanism, grains drop down through the concave together with small stalks and emptied pods, while large stalks and pods are carried along the direction of axis and disposed through the stalk outlet. And the proper specification of main structures on this mechanism such as pitch, number of agitating plate, clearance, rotating speed of the screw auger and meshes of the concave were clarified by basic experiments.
