Abstract

The munufacturing of rotary blades which can give the various scoop surface, using the design method discussed in previous paper and simulation results of their throwing characteristics of the clods are described. The throwing characteristics were simulated as follows:
(1) In case of up-cut tilling, the scoop surface with smaller ρ, larger φ and larger φ1 gives longer throwing distance.
(2) Up cut tilling under greater tilling depth condition than blade radius and down cut tilling under the smaller depth than the radius can be recommended for backward throwing. Then higher revolutional speed of blade can throw longer distance under those tilling conditions.
(3) ρ should be smaller than blade radius in order that the clods are accelerated in sliding along the scoop surface, otherwise the clods are accelerated only by the tip and then they apart from the surface.
(4) The clods should be given higher initial velocity not to re-cut in throwing by the blade.
