Abstract

Two basic problems, elasto-plastic analysis and impact behaviour, are discussed to propose the design criteria of tracfor safety frame. The elasto-plastic analyses were made by use of the results of static-loading tests and finite element method. It became possible to predict the collapsing process of frame by finite element method in case of some mechanical property of materials are known accurately.
The dynamic behaviour of safety frame was also solved clearly. Namely, the dynamic yield stress of material (mild steel) under impact load was 30-40% higher compared with the static yield stress.
