Abstract

To evaluate the characteristics of farm field profiles, 3 meadows and 7 terrains were measured and the characteristics of two parallel tracks on which a tractor ran were analyzed. And it should be recognized that the roughness of two parallel tracks are almost the same but there exsists a slight correlation between them, since the value of coherency function is smaller than unity. Therefore, the tractor vibrates not only in the vertical mode but also in the pitch and the roll mode. To select the profiles of test tracks for the vibration tests and durability tests of tractors or implents, it may be suggested that the roughness of test tracks should be in the range of E to F in terms of the classification of roughness by ISO/TC108. Again the correlation between the profiles of the two tracks made a slight appearance.
