Abstract

The relation between adjusting method and discharging rate of the fertilizer applicator was tested by using the several kinds of fertilizer whose physical properties were different. The results were as follows. Discharging rate can be approximated by linear regression to the open area of the shutter and by logarithmic regression to the travelling speed of the applicator. The correlation coefficient between discharging rate in volume and weight was in very high correlation to the bulk density of the fertilizer. The coefficient of variation for the discharging rate of the chemical fertilizer which was composed of highly uniform granules was less than that of others. It is clear that the requirement for the desirable fertilizer applicator is the constant efficiency to the capacity of the discharging adjustment equipment.
