Abstract
The effective minimum firming load of the soil injector was studied for improving the control of soil pests and the safety in work operations. The changes of air permeability coefficients, rate of gas phase and diffusion rate of chloropicrin through soils against various firming loads were measured in laboratory, and it was proved that effective minimum firming load for enclosing chloropicrin in soils was about 80-100kPa.
The correlations between vapour rate and diffusion of chloropicrin in soils were simulated by two diffusion models, and the results of these simulations showed that diffusion of chloropirin in soils slowed down remarkably when rate of gas phase decreased under about 20-30%. In practical experiments, the same results as the simulations were obtained.
