Abstract
A two dimensional plant transfer equipment is developped in which the control of plant interval is possible both in longitudinal and transverse direction. The plant intervals are spread by carrier driving gears using an extended line of hooks in the longitudinal direction and by the carriers applying parallel links in the transverse direction. In order to spare futile spaces and to increase operating efficiency, the cultivating bed is divided into two parts and a turn-around mechanism is provided. The plant intervals designed in this equipment based on a growth curve of Lettuce (cultivar Okayama) are compared with the plant intervals obtained from experiments, and both are well agreed.
