In order to stabilize the agricultural production, it is necessary to design the appropriate farm work plan. Depending on the region, level of the technology etc., the form of the appropriate farm work plan will have some variations. This research specifically designs the decision support system for the optimization of the farm work planning that is supposed to be applicable to a developing country like Indonesia.
In the computer program developed in this research, agricultural mechanization database system, linear programming, scheduling, the substitution of the man-machine combination and the operation cost calculation techniques were applied. An objective function which derives a minimum cost for the given system constraints was established.
System implementation to some Indonesian farm groups has shown the capability of the system on the optimization of farm work planning.
