A cyclic triaxial compression experiment was carried out in order to clarify the effects of dynamic load on wheel running performances. The effects of frequencies and number of cycles of dynamic load were examined from the point of view of dynamic strength characteristics of dry sand. The results showed that the dynamic load considerably weakened the shear strength of dry sand and the shear strength became weaker while the number of cycles and frequencies increased.
