This study presents a proof of previously reported threshing mechanism theory for Japanese type head feeding combine, and the possibility of ear-breaking control and sensing in experiments were confirmed using two kinds of model threshers.
For this purpose, ear-head motion is observed in strobe-picture, and threshing tooth strain is measured using strain gage.
Though the condition is restricted to one stem of rice without leaves, the threshing theory is proved by the observation and the analysis of threshing energy. It is possible to control ear-breaking by means of changing posture between threshing tooth and head. Also, if we use strain gage, the sensing of ear-breaking is capable.
Furthermore, the model thresher under the threshing condition based on the threshing theory has the same performance as current Japanese type head-feeding thresher.
