Abstract

The plucking roll system was designed to solve the cutting problem of tea shoots, and the theoretical analysis of the friction factor was made to investigate the main cause in these factors. The friction coefficient between the material of plucking roll and tea stem was 0.58-0.68, which was obtained by using the experimental apparatus based on the pin-disk method. The maximum diameter of plucking roll which will protect the tea stem from cutting was assumed to be about 10mm.
