Abstract

In the previous part, the performance of a trial made sensor module was examined on angular measurement. The performance of two sensor modules on position measurement that had been improved for the purpose of decreasing vibration during rotation is reported in this paper. The result showed that under indoor conditions of area 20×14m2, the measurement error was less than 10cm. The vehicle recognition method in this system was largely affected by environmental lightness. Therefore, the image of a marker set outdoors was analyzed with regards to color characteristics, and an improved method of vehicle recognition using the results of color analysis and the probability density function were adopted. The result showed that during this process, very few misrecognitions occured.
