Abstract

Based on the field cultivation tests by Zhao and the soil investigations by Araya, one to one mixing of the second (Aw) and the third (B) horizons was conducted to improve planosol solum leaving the first (Ap) horizon undisturbed. This paper deals with the basic soil bin tests on soil mixing with half size model ploughs. It was found that a standing up plough and a dropping down plough can practically be used on the field, but a folding up plough can not practically be used because the furrow slices did not move smoothly on the moldboard.
