Abstract

In the case of using substitute fuel for engines, the output performance, startability, combustion and long term opration performance are important performance parameters. In this paper, the authors carried out long term operating test (rated revolutions, 75% load) using unrefined rapeseed oil (deacidification oil, degumming oil, hydration-degumming oil and crude oil) to confirm their effect on the engine, and starting test using degumming oil as fuel. As the results, deacidification and hydration-degumming oil were accepted as suitable substitute fuels for small diesel engine. The engine started easily with degumming oil by dropping gasoline from gasoline cup for starting.
