Abstract

The performance of automatic livestock walk-through scale with entrance gate was examined. This scale distinguish the cow being weighed from those at the entrance gate. The device performed perfectly under normal conditions, but the scale was sensitive to the electronic interference from milking parlor. Under these conditions, the scale was unable to identify the cows'number of cows. In order to overcome this problem, we set up a switch at the entrance of the parlor and switched off at the entrance gate of the scale. We also set up a reinforced fence and a back stream prevention gate to insure the safety flow of livestock. These adjustments enhanced the performance of the scale.
