Abstract

Produced a prototype crop truck by remodeling small crawler type sprayer, adapted to the width (0.7~0.9m) of the pathway in the steeply sloped terrace garden, where Satsuma mandarin trees were planted in a single row with central leader trained. Examined the desorption method and inspected the efficiency of crop carrying task and the labor intensity on the workers.

For crop container transport distance of 33~48 meters, the working hours have been significantly reduced by 60~63% when using a 4-wheel handcart or crawler type truck in comparison with hands transportation. The work load intensity grade was improved by more than one grade compared with hand transportation method, and the difference was remarkable for the workers over 60 years old.
